Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) was established in 1989 to incorporate two more years of schooling as in the international arena. There are currently more than 900 colleges affiliated to HSEB. The marking system goes as per international standard giving an easy way for equivalence to ensure worldwide recognition. Orient College is an advanced+2 institution affiliated to HSEB, offering +2 programs in Science, Management and Humanities in separate blocks for each stream. We have morning and day shifts run with adequate physical and academic facilities. EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Orient is a center for academic as well as extra curricular activities equipped with student-centered friendly methods. Student of Orient have a great platform to explore in extra curricular activities such as sports, music presentation seminars, excursions and social work, In the yester years our students proved to be remarkably well in basketball, football, cricket at different tournaments and cultural performances. Outstanding performers have been awarded with different scholarships. The newcomers will also be given scholarships in the same criteria. The college has been providing a regular basketball coach. The college also encourages students to participate in other activities. Frequent field trips are also organized so that they are refreshed from the regular routine of studies. Having realized the significance of all round development of our students’ personality, following groups and clubs are formulated. All these activities are governed by Extra Curricular Activities Department.

PUBLICATION
The Rays is the annual college magazine to cater student\'s creative genius. There are also other monthly wall magazines handled separately by different classes and faculties. Science students have been running The Appetizer, Humanities The Silver Lining and Management The Confession as well. College administration and faculty members are very cooperative to facilitate student in publication task. The members of publication groups occasionally carry out some surveys convening various topics.

SPORTS CLUB
Students are encouraged to avail themselves of the basic range of indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Sports Club is endowed with the responsibility of organizing various intra/inter college competitions, friendly matches and occasional fun games.

ECO CLUB
To maintain a relation with Mother Nature, our students are involved in Eco Club. Through their club, they hold progrmmes like gardening and plantation periodically.

ART AND DESIGN
As and additional/ optional subject, we have also offered classes on Art and Design. They learn to play with colors and make wonderful paintings.

THE WEBSITE
We have forum a forum www.orientcollege.com for exchanging ideas, experience and suggestions among students, teachers, parents, academicians and general people. Other matters of interest will be constantly uploaded.

MUSICAL GROUP
A cozy rehearsal room is set in college premises for music lovers. In the annually conducted musical concert among the students of Plus 2, Orient has been winning the competition regularly. Orient Musical Band has bagged many awards in the Inter College Music Competition organized at different times. Orient Musical Band and Raudra Band often exhibit in various college based programs.

BOOK CLUB
Students of Orient have joined Wave’s Book Club. They attend the meetings at the British Council every month.

ORIENT TEACHER\'S CLUB
Orient Teachers Club (OTC) reserves a full-fledged right to organize programmes both independently and sometimes with students\' participation. Programmes like blood donation, documentary show, paper presentation, creative writing training, symposium rhetoric meditation any yoga are regularly organized.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY
Faculty members at Orient emphasize on a realistic and practical approach for better understanding and competence in students\' respective fields. The team of dedicated and experienced teaching staff applies special skills to motivate students with the latest and simplified methods. The precious instruction bestowed by Visiting and Guest Lecturers has enhanced the appreciation of interdisciplinary mode. In order to materialize the concept of effective teaching learning activities, audio-visual media are constantly employed to a considerable extent. Periodical workshops, symposiums, exchange programmes and spiritual practices like yoga and meditation are other facets of our approach. We spare no effort to enable the young minds to be well informed, creative, critical, spiritual and responsible to the society and humanity at large.

CAFETERIA
The College cafeteria is spacious enough to cater the students comfortably. The menu provides a wider variety and it changes periodically. Quality and hygiene is maintained. The price comes around the possible minimum level.

HOSTEL AND TRANSPORT
Orient College provides hostel and transport facilities in their own standard for the needy students.

TEACHERS\' SUPPORT SITE (TSS)
It is a paid website especially designed for teachers. It contains teaching methodology, assessment objectives, and syllabi along with recent facts and figures. Each teacher is given a password to use independently to create a network with teachers around world.

COMPUTER LAB
We have recent models of PCs in LAN with various installed applications, encyclopedias and free internet access.

SCIENCE LAB
Our prime concern has been to develop a full-fledged science lab which we are proud of possessing. All the basic facilities are met along with trial rooms. Our labs separate for each subject meet the International standard for this level.

LIBRARY
Considerable efforts have been taken to build up resourceful libraries separate for each programme and stream. Besides the conventional Lending and Reference section, we offer encyclopedia browsing, interactive software and free internet access to fulfill the quest for library.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT
General requirement for +2 is SEE or equivalent. But Admission Committee reserves the decision of eligibility in all streams based upon secondary level scores/grades and performance in the entrance examination. Students from boards and universities out of Nepal are accepted only when the documents are convincing regarding recognition and equivalence.

Orient Relief Fund (ORF), under the initiation of Orient Teacher\'s Club, is the foundation of financial aid. The Admission Committee is fully entitled to propose the names of prospective students who could be benefitted by ORF.

DISCIPLINE: ORNAMENT OF SCHOLARS

We believe in achievement through discipline. So we apply students code of conduct very strictly. The college applies following aspects to students. Breaking of them result in immediate expulsion from the college and compensation for the damage caused by them.

  • Daily attendance subject wise and phone information between parents and college.
  • Proper college uniform.
  • Decent hair style and no ornaments, cosmetics and styles.
  • Proper entry and departure time.
  • Prohibition of mobiles. CDs DVDs and iPod use in college premises.
  • Prohibition of behavior causing damage to college property.
  • Prohibition of misbehavior and wrong manner in college premises.
  • Prohibition of bad habits like smoking, live affair, and consumption of alcoholic and toxic materials in college premises.
